Behind the scenes of Painting 1, an intimate class of Art Majors work on their Conceptual Self-Portraits. Students built cradled panels in the Schaub Makerspace with consideration for the relationship between the form and the content of their work. Exciting shapes and materials emerged including binding tape, stickers, and thread. In preparation for the project, students did painting exercises painting themselves for 30 minute intervals from different angles and painting one another.
